Beethoven, Mozart & Haydn
Classics with Jan Willem de Vriend
Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
Mozart's Sinfonia concertante is overwhelmingly beautiful. An impressive musical highlight, with a second movement of poignant beauty. In the hands of award-winning top violinist Maria Milstein and our Principal viola Hannah Strijbos one of the most beautiful works for string instruments. Mozart wrote it after trips to Paris and Mannheim where he gained various musical impressions.
Renowned Dutch conductor Jan Willem de Vriend also performs Haydn's stately Symphony No. 104. It was his Last symphony and the crowning glory of his work. And you can hear that: grand, expressive, full of joy and yes, you hear it well at the end: those are London street sounds and sales cries from the marketplace.
