In 2021, award-winning New Zealand Tianyi Lu conducted the Residentie Orkest in grand fashion with Dvořák's famous Ninth Symphony. All the more reason to ask her back for a concert with works by Andrée, Elgar and, again, Dvořák. Together with Residentie Orkest and the equally up-and-coming cellist Camille Thomas, the rising star knows how to touch all your strings.

Like his Ninth Symphony, Dvořák's Seventh Symphony is a masterpiece. Written "For Love, God and Fatherland," the Czech composer himself said of his rich world of sound. With her creative approach and exciting energy, conductor Tianyi Lu manages to convey the composer's passion in a penetrating way. The Andante by the wrongly unknown Swedish composer Elfrida Andrée and the lyrical, highly romantic Cello Concerto by Elgar will precede. One of the best-known concertos for cello and orchestra, performed today by the young and charismatic Camille Thomas.
