About the concert
Our chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier concludes her first season with one of the greatest works in music history: Giuseppe Verdi's Mass for the Dead. Masterfully, opera composer Verdi manages to merge large choirs and solo voices - from the most intimate dynamics to the greatest drama.

With Verdi's Messa da Requiem , tenor Luciano Pavarotti celebrated his breakthrough. Truly everything about this piece is spectacular: raging emotions, unprecedented intimacy, ferocious sounds, impressive brass. Moreover, a large symphonic choral work takes place for the first time in Amare , with a choir of more than a hundred singers on the balcony surrounding the orchestra
