Together with Buddy Network

Musical city walk of connection

\
Part of Symphony 2030 project: 'Alle Menschen werden Brüder - Beethoven 9'

On Monday, May 20 (Whit Monday) Buddy Netwerk organizes, in cooperation with Residentie Orkest , a musical city walk in the center of The Hague.

The famous "Alle Menschen werden Brüder" from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony celebrates exactly 200 years in May. The world premiere was in Vienna on May 7, 1824, and the symphony has since become a universal message of connection and harmony. A relevant message that Buddy Network and the Residentie Orkest are jointly promoting this day. Because music connects, and Buddy Network has been connecting people in meaningful 1-to-1 contact for over 35 years!

Will you walk with us in a musical walk of connection?

During a city walk by Buddy Network and the Residentie Orkest through the center of The Hague, city carilloneur Gijsbert Kok will play excerpts from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in the Grote Kerk, among others.

At the Grote Kerk there is a mobile video screen (route maps will also be handed out here). The video screen includes a video in which bass trombonist Wouter Iseger visits city carillonneur Gijsbert Kok. They talk about Beethoven's Ninth and the translation of the symphony to the carillon. There is also a QR code to scan (you'll need a smartphone for this), with which you can watch the carillonneur play live.

Once you have completed the route, you can pick up a token (until 2 p.m.) at the starting point, with which you can get a consumption in the Nutstuin at Café Soof. This garden is also the ideal place to enjoy the carillon concert.

The starting and finishing point is in front of the Grote of Sint Jacobskerk in The Hague (opposite the Nutshuis). Between 11.00 and 14.00 you can start and walk the walk independently. Between 12.00 and 13.00, Gijsbert Kok, city carillonneur of The Hague, will play on the carillon of the Grote Kerk.
