From idea to performance

In November and December, an intensive scouting of participants took place. We visited various roc's in The Hague and introduced Stage Your Voice to over 150 students by means of various musical workshops.

After the pitch round in February, twelve participants remained who prepared themselves for the auditions. They received guidance from professionals, who coached them in the areas of writing lyrics, composing, presentation techniques, singing and piano lessons. In addition, they participated as a group in inspiration sessions by artists such as DI-RECT and Pat Smith.

"As a twenty-year-old young adult woman, I feel it is important for the world to hear my story and that of many others. The streets should be safe for girls and women too"

The auditions

On Wednesday The auditions took place on April 14. Seven participants convinced the jury of their message with a crushing performance. They will perform this summer with musicians from the Residentie Orkest .

Coaching and video clip

Before the summer, the youngsters will tighten their performance, with the help of their coaches. We will pair them with arrangers and composers. In May/June, Alicia, Myrthe and Hacer already rehearsed with the musicians. We even recorded the video clip with Alicia and Mythe. In the coming months, we will do the same with the remaining five and they will all go on stage at unique locations in the city.

“I grew up in the Transvaal district of The Hague. It is a district with major challenges. People behave disrespectfully towards each other and the environment. I know that things can be different.”
