Fun Fact

Franz Peter Schubert
(Vienna, Jan. 31, 1797 - Nov. 19, 1828)

Although Schubert's Ninth Symphony was later praised for its heavenly length, ironically, it was that same length that caused raised eyebrows among Schumann's contemporaries. At the Vienna premiere, for example, only the first two movements of Schubert's symphony were played. An aria from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor was inserted as a leisurely interlude.

One Minute Symphony

Composition student Alice Yeung from Hong Kong met Johan de Vos, Manager of Housing & Facilities at Amare. Johan showed Alice all kinds of "secret" places in Amare, from the basement to the grid above the Concert Hall. Alice will try to incorporate Amare into her composition: from the grandeur of the outside to the details on the inside and all the passionate activities taking place in the halls.
