Opening renewed Spuiplein

Right in the heart of The Hague is Spuiplein, the place for meeting and dialogue for all the people of The Hague. A backyard, living room and town square all in one. Spuiplein is a lively meeting place where people can come together.

After months of hard work, renovation and redecoration, the renewed Spuiplein opened on Saturday , September 6. The new cultural attraction is decorated with lots of greenery, a water basin, seating areas and open spaces for meetings and events. Skaters will also have a place there. The stairs of the Mercure Hotel can serve as a grandstand. The official opening ceremony was performed by Alderman Saskia Bruines of Culture. Afterwards, the Spotlight Festival erupted with numerous performances including a concert by the Residentie Orkest in Amares Concert Hall .
