One Minute Symphony

Young composition student David Richter wanted inspiration for his One Minute Symphony in a conversation with a young musician. He met 11-year-old Johan, who has lessons at Royal Conservatoire The Hague with our own trumpeter Erwin ter Bogt. David spoke with Johan about his dreams, the role of the trumpet in his life and his other hobbies. How that meeting turned into notes can be heard Oct. 11 at Amare.
"Being unsure of what will happen"
Johan was born in the Netherlands but is of Austrian descent, where his parents have a home in the majestic mountains. Perhaps the mountains are reflected in the One Minute Symphony and he is making a trumpet sound at high altitude....
