One Minute Symphony from

Max van Platen

In the One Minute Symphony project, composition students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague take to the streets to make contact with a resident of The Hague or are inspired by a location or a work of art somewhere in the city. The students write a one-minute symphony about this encounter, which is played by us a short time later. A personal story transformed into music. That is only possible at Residentie Orkest.

"I don't want the music to be too predictable."

- Max van Platen

Composition student Max van Platen looked for inspiration for his One Minute Symphony at the Art Museum. Here he spoke to Doede Hardeman, Head of Collections at the museum about Constant's work "The Blue Flame. In particular, the idea of redesigning the world and achieving a utopia where one can have a free spirit appealed to Max.

The premiere of Max van Platen's One Minute Symphony will be heard during Colorful Sounds on Friday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. at Amare.
