Take a look at the Concert Hall of Amare
With four theater and concert halls, a conference center, a large number of public spaces and two catering establishments, Amare is a major cultural and convention center. An institution for the performing arts and at the same time a high school and a conservatory of music and dance. A building where as many as 6,600 people can be on the floor at the same time for various activities.
Purest sound experience
Each of the four halls in Amare is placed separately in the building. In this way, the sound vibrations remain within the hall and the halls do not interfere with each other. For the purest sound experience, acoustic facilities such as ceilings, panels and curtains have been installed in all rooms. Each hall has a special recognizable finish on the outside. For example, the finish of the Danstheater (the theater hall) is bamboo, the Concert Hall has a gold-colored metal finish and the Conservatory Hall is shrouded in concrete. Near the halls are the foyers.
Study and lesson rooms
In Amare there are several study and lesson rooms for the music and dance students of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, own studios for the dancers of the Nederlands Dans Theater and a private rehearsal room for the musicians of the Residentie Orkest.
Public space
On the first floor of Amare a covered, freely accessible space runs from the Spuiplein all the way to the side on the Turfhaven. Here you will find the ticket office, the Arts Square and a catering facility with a terrace. Underneath the building is a public parking garage and public bicycle storage.
Concert Hall
Located on the second floor, the Concert Hall is the largest auditorium at Amare. Visitors can sit in this hall both in front of the stage, as well as around and even behind the stage. These spots are located on two-story balconies that extend around the entire space.
The room is surrounded by acoustic panels, whose relief, like the green chairs and oak parquet, is iconic. The Concert Hall is multifunctional. For pop concerts, the chairs of the parterre can leave the hall, the stage can be enlarged and the -specially designed for this hall- mobile bars can be driven into the hall. In the "classic" seating arrangement, the hall can accommodate 1,500 seated people; in the "pop" arrangement, you're easily talking about 2,500 standing visitors.
This is the hall where the Residentie Orkest can shine. Of course, this beautiful multipurpose hall has plenty of room for other great national and international orchestras. Pop programming is organized by Amare together with Paard. The Concert Hall will also host conferences and presentations.
