Hello Cello Day

The Cello Biennale and several local partners are organizing the Hello Cello Days in four cities: a musical mini-festival for the whole family with master classes, a children's performance, workshops, trial lessons and instrument builders. The highlight of the Hello Cello Day is the performance of the Hello Cello Orchestra with young cellists from the region.

Sunday Morning Concert: Kabalevsky & Dvořák

Youth & Family

Tinker along with violinist and sound artist Jacob Plooij. From old instruments and waste materials such as paper, cork and plastic caps, he makes the cutest instruments. In half an hour you can make a drum or a real bow. Or who knows, maybe you will invent a fun instrument yourself. 

Suite No. 2 by Bach

Discover the enchanting sounds of Kian Soltani! During the Hello Cello Day on Sunday, Oct. 13, the internationally acclaimed cellist will perform Bach's beautiful Cello Suite No. 2. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear one of the greatest talents of our time play live in the intimate setting of Amare.

Final concert Hello Cello Orchestra (6+)


Athenaeum Chamber Orchestra, Residentie Orkest and the Hello Cello Orchestra

On Oct. 13, the Hello Cello Day will conclude with a festive final concert at Amare. The Atheneum Chamber Orchestra (AKO) will perform Saint-Saëns' 1st cello concerto, with Matthijs Broersma as soloist. Then the cellists of the Residentie Orkest will take the stage for a special collaboration. The afternoon ends with a performance by the Hello Cello Orchestra, bringing together cellists of all ages and levels. This final concert promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the cello.
