The Hague Women's Days 2026

From March 1 to 8, during International Women's Week, the Residentie Orkest will Residentie Orkest on the emancipation and position of women around the world. Together with various (social) partners, the orchestra is organizing three musical gatherings that focus on the role of women. 'Women's rights without borders' - conversations about female leadership, with live music


Women's emancipation in fashion and music

Muzee is hosting a special and inspiring afternoon focusing on women's rights, identity, and clothing. The afternoon will start with a lecture about the exhibition Draad en Dracht (Thread and Dress). This exhibition focuses on the role of clothing: not only as cultural heritage, but also as a powerful tool for social and political emancipation, both in the Netherlands and worldwide. Afterwards, a string trio from the Residentie Orkest, consisting of female musicians, will perform music by female composers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Documentary evening ‘Cutting through rocks’

As part of The Hague Women's Days and the celebration of International Women's Day 2026, the Alfa Wave Foundation is organizing a movie night with a discussion panel and a concert by the Residentie Orkest. The evening will include a special performance by musicians from the Residentie Orkest, including our violinist Azadeh Maghsoodi.
