Since the summer of 2019, Richard Egarr has been a permanent guest conductor with the Residentie Orkest. In addition, he is Music Director with the Academy of Ancient Music, Artistic Partner to the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Music Director with the Philharmonia Baroque and Chorale. Egarr is also a harpsichordist, performs in a variety of chamber music settings and is in great demand as a soloist and conductor.
He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra, among others. From 2011 to 2017, he was Associate Artist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Richard Egarr began as a choirboy at York Minster, was an organ scholar at Clare College in Cambridge and later studied with Gustav and Marie Leonhardt.
