More about Greta
I started playing bassoon when I was nine, as a result of an open afternoon where I heard and saw the instrument. I was able to start then because the wind orchestra had one available. Before that I had been playing the recorder and bass recorder.

What do I like to listen to?
I love listening to Schubert's Fifth Symphony in the performance of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. This symphony always cheers me up and I find the woodwinds particularly good and beautifully balanced in this performance. Then, of course, Bach's St. Matthew Passion by the Gewandhausorchester conducted by Riccardo Chailly. High quality and nice tempi. And finally Shostakovich's Violin Concerto by David Oistrakh: a great performance. I have fond memories of this piece on tour with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conductor Andris Nelsons and violinist Baibe Skride, where I had filled in last minute and later got a job.
