2023
Gerard began his violin studies with Coosje Wijzenbeek and obtained his Bachelor of Music with Vera Beths at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He then studied successively in Salzburg, Zurich and Basel, earning three master's degrees, each cum laude. In Salzburg, he studied at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in Pierre Amoyal's violin class. In Zurich, Gerard continued his studies with Andreas Janke at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. In Basel, he and his piano trio pursued another master's degree with chamber music specialization with Anton Kernjak and Rainer Schmidt.

Gerard has on loan a violin by Antonio Gragnani built in 1773 from the collection of the National Musical Instruments Fund.
More than a decade ago, Gerard co-founded the Delta Piano Trio, in which he currently collaborates with cellist Nuala McKenna and pianist Vera Kooper. The trio won the Kersjes Prize, the most important Dutch chamber music award, in 2020.
