With an album and two concerts, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Xander Vrienten and the Residentie Orkest olv Joost Geevers pay tribute to composer, singer, bassist, guitarist and Doe Maar legend Henny Vrienten. To be heard are symphonic arrangements of songs from his three Last solo albums.

Trijntje Oosterhuis and Henny Vrienten have known each other since the beginning of Trijntje's career and were fans of each other's work. The sincerity and recognizability of the lyrics of "Holland's best songwriter" have a huge appeal to Trijntje. Several times they also worked together. For instance, Henny wrote for Trijntje the lyrics of Vlieg met me mee and Trijntje sang his song Het gaat niet over on Henny's seventieth birthday.

The idea for an album with songs by Henny Vrienten came from Trijntje. In consultation with Henny himself, Trijntje and Henny's son Xander decided to choose only songs from his Last three solo albums - En toch..., Alles is anders and Tussen de regels - which he himself considered his most personal. Henny was proud and honored with the project and urged Trijntje and Xander to continue with it above all.
