Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.

You can also experience the most beautiful music in the Concertgebouw during the day. Today Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony and Sibelius' Violin Concerto. Anja Bihlmaier leads the Residentie Orkest The Hague, Stefan Jackiw solos.

Anya Bihlmaier in Tchaikovsky
Recently, Anja Bihlmaier became the permanent chef of the Residentie Orkest The Hague. A position she was really looking forward to, she told Omroep West. "The interesting things in life are the risks and the really, really strong emotions, really, really soft, really strong. That's what we're going to do, that's what they want to do, and that's what I really enjoy.' There are plenty of great feelings in Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony. Written in an idyllic country cottage in the hills around Moscow, with memories of Florence. A waltz that Tchaikovsky once heard on the street there passes by. Dark and light alternate in this melancholic but colourful work.

Stefan Jackiw plays Sibelius
Violinist Stefan Jackiw was praised by the Boston Globe for his intelligent and sensitive playing. The American plays the big stages of the world, but is also popular online: he regularly shares glimpses into his working process. Jackiw solos at the Residentie Orkest in Sibelius' Violin Concerto. An ode to the composer's favourite instrument.
