Julian Steckel in Dvořák
With his performance of Dvořák's Cello Concerto , Julian Steckel won the ARD Musikwettbewerb competition. It was the start of a worldwide career. He shows the soul of the cello, wrote the New Zealand press. More and more, Steckel confirms on his website: "As a performer, I have come to trust my inner life more and more, and to allow the audience more and more. It is precisely vulnerability that makes you stronger as a musician.' The Cello Concerto , with its many emotional extremes, suits Steckel exceptionally well.

Dvořák'sFifth Symphony
The Residentie Orkest also plays the Fifth Symphony. This lush work shows well that Dvořák had begun his "Slavic period. He incorporates all sorts of Bohemian influences into the beloved symphony. Which is conducted by British conductor Jonathan Bloxham. After an earlier career as a cellist, Bloxham is now making a name for himself as a conductor. Colleagues such as Paavo Järvi praise his technique and deep musical insight.
