Sound bites
Festival Classique
Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
A ten-piece ensemble from the Residentie Orkest takes on the challenge with electronic musicians Poulson Sq. and Kypski, symphonic and electronic music merge in a new arrangement. Cellist Maya Fridman, together with fire dancer Elisha Eliana, provides a sizzling performance in which the boundaries between music and dance blur. Opera star Jessey-Joy Spronk takes on the role of Violetta, the famous courtesan, and the role of Alfredo, the infatuated Alfredo, from Verdi's La Traviata will be performed by Pascal Pittie, accompanied musically by David Kweksilber & friends.
Slagwerk Den Haag will perform a new composition by Aart Strootman, inspired by the actions of Plastic Soup Surfer Merijn Tinga to raise awareness of litter plastic in seas and oceans. Specially selected film material of the inspiration depicts the music and lifts the composition to a higher level. The talented musicians of ensemble The Formula give a new impulse to the classical chamber music repertoire.
The exuberant mix of styles and genres is not the only thing that makes Festival Classique | Sound Bites special. No concert in a traditional Concert Hall, but in a hangar of the Fokker Terminal in The Hague. In this beautiful industrial location we create the relaxed atmosphere of a late summer evening on the beach.
