Music through heart and soul
Perfect beauty

Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
Can music be perfect? How close can a composer, a conductor, an orchestra come? The listener may judge. Brahms' Third Symphony cuts through heart and soul. The intention and love resound in every note: they are where they belong. So much beauty, especially during the famous third movement, that it almost becomes melancholic.
Brahms' Third is placed next to one of the most famous Mahler cycles. Together they offer a complete picture of man, the world, and perfection. Our regular guest conductor Jun Märkl and the English soprano Ruby Hughes are a perfect match for this subtle and moving music. Hughes sings for the first time with the Residentie Orkest this evening, and presents Mahler's perfect beauty. An evening that we open with Ravel's Ma Mère l'Oye , with the Rückert-Lieder and the Third as conclusion.
