Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
After the great success of their performances in 2016 and 2018, the Residentie Orkest and Tim Kliphuis are continuing their musical adventure. This time in the Nieuwe Kerk and with Kalpanarts, a contemporary dance company that brings Indian dance forms together with urban and contemporary dance. An evening about five elements and four seasons!
Kliphuis composed The Five Elements during the lockdown. His music depicts the four elements of earth, air, water and fire, followed by a fifth - immaterial element - namely "ether. Kliphuis looks hopefully to the future with this fifth element: what is our essence really and how can we follow it? Of course you will hear Bach and parts of Vivaldi's famous 'seasons' to which violinist Kliphuis, ambassador of gypsy jazz, together with his trio and the Residentie Orkest , manages to give a very personal twist.
