Living the passion together
Matthew Passion

The Netherlands loves the Passion. Every year this timeless story attracts thousands of people who get carried away by the moving passion and death story of Jesus Christ. There is therefore no more beautiful tribute than Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion (and nowhere in the world is this piece performed more often than in the Netherlands).
In The Hague tonight there is a unique performance led by renowned Bach specialist Matthew Halls - previously he was art director of the Bach Festival in Orgegon in the United States. An empathetic and dynamic conductor who lets the emotion vibrate from the work. The cast of star soloists is assisted by the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the boys' voices of the Haags Matrozenkoor. The Silent Saturday before Easter is thus complete.
