The Netherlands is crazy about the Passion. This timeless story attracts thousands of people every year who are carried away by the moving suffering and death story of Jesus Christ. There is no more beautiful tribute than the St. Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach (and nowhere in the world is this piece performed more often than in the Netherlands).
Tonight in The Hague there is a unique performance led by renowned Bach specialist Matthew Halls – he was previously art director of the Bach Festival in Orgegon in the United States. An empathetic and dynamic conductor who lets the emotion vibrate from the work. The cast of star soloists is supported by the Netherlands Chamber Choir and the boys' voices of the Hague Sailors' Choir. The Silent Saturday for Easter is now complete.
