Interview with clarinetist Annelien Van Wauwe
"It's great to play Sutra with the Residentie Orkest" said Annelien Van Wauwe. On January 20 and 22, she will play this work with us at the Concert Hall in Amare.

In this concert, the Residentie Orkest gives attention to the air of life. Thus we hear the Dutch premiere of Sutra - a clarinet concerto inspired by meditation, yoga, philosophy and the breath.
He wrote this clarinet concerto by the recently deceased Flemish composer Wim Henderickx especially for the evening's soloist, Annelien Van Wauwe, who dives into the meditative spheres. It is no wonder that in an evening dedicated to the primal power of breath, we conclude with a work by Robert Schumann. The German composer was plagued by depression and ill health, including tinnitus. In the uplifting tone of the Second, therefore, we hear a triumph: hope and new energy overcome pessimism.
