Learn all about an absolute masterpiece in one evening? You can during an evening of Maestro Jules. Before the intermission, the Stand-Up Conductor analytically and anecdotally unravels the work and the orchestra plays crucial fragments, extraordinary solos and exciting transitions. After intermission, the work is performed in full by the orchestra.

The crowning glory of Brahms' symphonic oeuvre
Brahms' Fourth Symphony is considered the crowning glory of his symphonic oeuvre. Building on the innovations begun by his predecessor Beethoven, the symphony has a number of surprises. Maestro Jules reveals, among other things, the unprecedented climax at the end of the first movement, the unusual groove and stray triangle in the third movement, and how Brahms pays a sophisticated ode to Bach in the final movement. Brahms considered his Fourth his best symphonic work, and that's saying something for just about the most formidable critic among his professional brethren.
