Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.

Enjoy a phenomenal evening where grand and colorful works by Chausson and Ravel, among others, pass in review. Featuring artist in residence and top violinist Simone Lamsma.

The evening begins with the beautiful and subdued "What the Wild Flowers Tell Me," in an orchestration by Benjamin Britten. Then two of the most famous compositions for solo violin and orchestra, performed by Simone Lamsma: Chausson and Ravel. Both knew like no other how to compose a colorful palette in unprecedentedly exciting ways. Finally, the magisterial Second Symphony by Sibelius - an almost cinematic experience and one of the most romantic Sibelius symphonies.

"Simone Lamsma played splendidly, with crisp clarity and brightly radiant sound, conveying both the rhapsodic fervor and intriguing pensiveness of the music."
