Make music, not trash
Man & Nature

Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
Make music, not trash . During this evening we want to restore a small piece of the harmony between man and nature. Waste, litter, air pollution – it Residentie Orkest seizes the moment to reflect on how we can preserve and reuse what we have left. A movement towards the circular, out of love for nature. This definitely includes the 'Pastorale', Beethoven's Sixth Symphony .
This famous ode to nature will be performed for the first time tonight by the Residentie Orkest under the direction of our chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier. Special is the 'Pastoral Symphony in Images' by the German photographer Tobias Melle, which bridges the gap between the romantic approach to Beethoven's music and the current issues of environmental protection and the climate crisis.
In addition, the Dutch premiere of Gregor Mayrhofer's Recycling Concerto will be heard. He wrote this especially for one of the best percussionists of the moment: Vivi Vassileva. With the reuse of materials and utensils, he challenges her to be experimental and inventive. For example, the brass plays with dampers made from used items. Music can also be found in the awareness surrounding the consumer society and the circular economy. Definitely a special experience.
