Residentie Orkest for care
Richard Egarr with Beethoven 5
Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
We are using the very first concert in the new Concert Hall of Amare to put the care staff in The Hague in the limelight. We are incredibly proud of them and would like to thank them for their enormous efforts during the corona crisis with a free concert. Our regular guest conductor Richard Egarr will lead the orchestra in Beethoven's world-famous Fifth Symphony.
The classics are classic because they continue to be played. That's why The Hague's care heroes get to enjoy two iconic works this evening. We will play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 - two works that were far ahead of their time. Groundbreaking in ferocity and individuality. Egarr's spontaneous and driven interpretation makes it exciting to encounter these pieces of music again and again.

"The key of c minor inspired great composers to create extraordinary things. Beethoven's Fifth needs little introduction - an absolutely headbanging experience. Mozart's Piano Concerto is his masterpiece in this key - almost an autobiographical mini-opera in which he opens up his soul and extremes of emotion to his audience.... truly heartbreaking. Don't miss this experience!"
- Richard Egarr - regular guest conductor
